"True Love" Card by ~ Helena Johannson

Hi everybody! Today I have a card to share, and I think this one will be perfect for a wedding, or an anniversary.
I have used a paper from the Botanique Collection, Comfy, front and back. I layered the papers with a doily in between. I have then tucked die cut shapes from the Natural Beauty Collection in three places, the colors worked so well together even though they aren't from the same paper collections.

I have embossed the edges of the Comfy paper, using Emboss Gloss and Mix'd Media Inx Embossing powder, color Jasmine. I did the same on the swirls and bird, Spellbinder dies from the "Pocket and Swirls" dies set. This gives such a beautiful effect!

Here are a few close-ups for you:

Thank you for stopping by today!

"Hello" Canvas by ~ Nadia Cannizzo

Hello everyone. I hope this post find you well.

Every once in a while I get the urge to create something REALLY feminine. Something packed with flowers. And I must tell you Manor House Creations always fulfills that urge ! Their flowers come in ALL sizes and colours. I know when I look into my collection of their flowers I will always find something to match whatever project I am working on.

You will find the Manor House Creations blog HERE and a bunch of their stockists HERE
Did you also know that The Flying Unicorn sells a whole heap of Manor House Creations at their store HERE

I combined my flowers with a GORGEOUS birdcage chipboard piece from Donna Salazar Designs and some other mists and colour from Donna's collections too.

To start with, I applied thick Gesso with a palette knife too my background and allowed it to dry.

I then sprayed some Donna Salazar Designs Smooch Spritz Sprays.

While that was drying, I heat embossed the birdcage with Chiffon Embossing Powder and once everything was dry I adhered it to the middle of the canvas.

Then I chose 3 vines from Manor House Creations, in Pink, Teal and White and overlapped them to create body and depth.

I also used 2 crochet butterflies from Manor House Creations and coloured them slightly with some ink.

"Crazy for You" Layout by ~ Tracey Sabella

Hi everyone!! It's Tracey here to share a layout I've created with lot's of Donna Salazar goodies! I've combined flowers handcrafted with Donna's Spellbinder dies along with ones cut from the embossed sheets that come in her paper pads. I've also done lots of inking and stamping.

This is an engagement shot of Joseph and Rachel. They're happily married now, but I still enjoy going back and creating pages for these fun photos.

"Crazy for You"

Mistra Hoolahan provides a gorgeous sketch each month designed to work with
Donna's products and signature colors. I've used her sketch as inspiration for my layout.

We would love to see any projects created with Donna Salazar Designs products including those inspired by this sketch in Donna's Ning Gallery. You can upload your projects here.

Tips and Techniques
These blossoms are created with Donna's Bitty Blossoms Dies.
My tutorial can be found here.

I handcrafted the larger Open Lace Rose but used stamen for the center rather than a decorative brad. My tutorial for these flowers can be found here

The background is stamped with Donna's Art Gone Wild stamps and inked with Mix'd Media Inx in the colors featured on the April Sketch: Pewter, Peridot, and Patina.
The page edges are also inked and stamped.

The bird and love sentiment are fussy cut from the Natural Beauty embossed image page.

The bling is from Donna's Want2Scrap Build Your Own Bling.

Embroidery thread is tucked around the clusters for added texture.

I hope you've been inspired to grab some inky, girly Donna Salazar products
and create a page for some of your favorite photos!

~ Blessings ~

Beautiful Card with tutorial by ~ Elena Olinevich

Hello crafty people.
Today I have a card to share with you and some tips on how I created it.

I combined some Prima Marketing flowers with cut with dies by Spellbinders.
Then I arranged them all ina  cluster and it looked like this:

I never use the flowers without gesso, so I took a brush and started covering the background and the flowers with a haevy gesso.

I guess it looks softer after gesso.
Then I misted some areas with Smooch

Just love those shimmery drips.
and then I took my soft brush and colored some areas  with a more dark Smooch

Quiet simple but looks a bit different from the ordinary, isn't it?

Happy Easter
and enjoy your time with the family.
Elena

Me & You Layout by ~ Mistra Hoolahan

Hi all!!   I'm loving this little 8x10 I've done of Kel and myself.  He's a great kid and keeps me laughing with his antics.  This one I thought we'd have a nice photo together... yeah, perhaps not!  But it's him, that's us... and so this one has become a favourite photo.

I've kept the colours very simple for this one, just the browns and denim patterns from Donna Salazar's Family Jeans collection {Denim Swirl, Denim Stripe & Family Notebook B}.  The clouds and title are from the Fun and Funky Cutout Sheet which comes with the Paper Pads.  The edges were distressed with Zutter's Distrezz-it-All, I love the fabulous torn, feathered distressing it gives.

The cut-outs really make for quick and simple, yet perfectly matched embellishements.

Thanks for stopping by, remember to take care of you!

"Happy" Layout and Build-A-Page Tutorial by ~ Helena Johansson

I simply fell in love with this months Girlie Grunge Sketch-n-color - a fabulous sketch by Mistra and amazing colors to go with it, I had so much fun creating my layout!
Come visit us at Donna's Ning-site and the fantastic gallery there! If you create something using our Girlie Grunge Sketch-n-color, do upload it into the gallery so we all can admire it!

I flipped the sketch 90 degrees:

Before I show you close-ups, I want to share how I did the background on this page, using a brick stencil from Want2Scrap and Donna's with Mixed Media Inx in the colors of this month: Pewter, Peridot and Patina.

I started with three papers from GCD Studios & Donna's, the Natural Beauty Collection and the Family Jeans collection. In the bottom I have Blue Fence from Natural Beauty, then Casual Elegance also from Natural Beauty (used a border punsch for this one) and finally Heirloom from Family Jeans.

After gluing the papers as shown below, I painted with some white gesso using a sponge, just a thin layer. Then I used a brick stencil from Want2Scrap & Donna's with texture paste.

After the paste had dried I took out my Mix'd Media Inx, colors Pewter, Peridot and Patina. The Colorbox tool is perfect to use when working with these inks!

I started painting on topp of the bricks and gesso, using the darkest color, Patina, first. When painting I use circular moves and then let the ink fade out. I didn't care too much about how it turned out in the middle, since I already knew I was going to have a piece of paper covering this spot.

I then repeated with the Pewter ink, trying to let the gray melt into the dark blue.

I finished the background with the Periodot color, using the same technique as before:

Amazing colors together!

Then I added a piece of paper, Family cards, from the Family Jeans collection, a piece of cheesecloth and my photos (these are of my darling nephew, Malte. Isn't he just adorable?!).

The title, Happy, I cut out from the 12x12 pad image sheet, Family Jeans collection.

The brick background peeks out behind the wood paper. Bricks and wood - gives a rustic yet romantic feel!

I made two flowers using Spellbinders Rose Creations dies and Heirloom paper from the Family Jeans collection. I have distressed the edges of each flower layer, sprayed some Smooch Spritz, River Mossy, and then painted the edges with a bit of gesso.

A couple of close-ups from different angles:

Thank you for stopping by today!

xoxo
Helena

Butterfly Card with Twinkling Butterfly Tutorial by ~ Tracey Sabella

It's Tracey here to share a card I created featuring Donna's Spellbinders Wonderful Wings dies and Clearsnap Twinkle Dust Glitter along with a photo tutorial on how to create my Twinkling Butterflies.

Butterfly Card

Tips and Techniques
Here's a close-up of the Twinkling Butterflies. Please scroll down to find my tutorial.

I've embellished with one of my Open Lace Roses using Donna's Spellbinders Grand Peony and Rose Creation Dies. My tutorial for these flowers can be found here. (Please note, even the largest of the "Grand" Peony dies fit in regular size die cut machines.)

Below the rose, I've layered Spellbinders Foliage leaves cut from Donna's Mix'd Media Stax 2 Mulberry paper. Some are lightly inked and some left in the natural color.

Another view of the butterflies and flower.

I've stamped the sentiment with Donna's Mix'd Media Inx, then heat embossed with Clearsnap clear embossing powder.

Edges of the card and sentiment flag are distressed with Donna's Zutter Distrezz-it-All.

I've used the same techniques for the sentiment inside the card.

A side view.

Step 2. Lightly rub Denim Mix'd Media Inx across the edges of the wings as shown.

Step 3. Brush Glue Gloss across the wings in the areas you have inked.

Step 4. Sprinkle the wet glue with Donna's Twinkle Dust Glitter in Mixed Berries. (Donna's Fairy Dust Glitter has been renamed to Twinkle Dust Glitter.)
